Happy New Year

Happy New Year!

As we reflect on 2021, we thought about all the challenges that were presented as we attempted to open this restaurant: wildfires, cost of goods, fuel prices, Covid, and the list goes on. Being optimists and adaptable, we ignored the negative and focused on the vision. We are amazed and so pleased by the local appreciation and support we have received. Thank you! We couldn’t be happier and we’ve enjoyed getting to know so many of you. Thanks for all the little goodies you have brought us, it warms our hearts that you think of us. We love that you appreciate us, and we appreciate you! We couldn’t be happier to here in this beautiful place making fresh, sustainable cuisine for everyone to enjoy.

Our Winter Menu has been very popular, we’re so glad you are enjoying it. If you haven’t tried it yet, take a look at the menu. The lamb shank has been the favorite, loved by the Marines, and the beef stew and mushroom medley (vegetarian) are close seconds. It’s cold out, so we wanted to create a small seasonal menu that would warm you from the inside out on those single digit days. We’ve also been making a variety of soups, all made from scratch with fresh ingredients, the sweet potato and roasted red pepper (vegan/vegetarian) has been a huge hit along with the New England clam chowder.

When it warms up a bit we’ll have a Spring menu for you to try so look forward to that! We have big plans for 2022, we’re still working on the interior renovations so we’ll continue to expand and develop our outdoor dining area. We’ve been working with a number of local growers for produce specifically for Coachwhip, we are very excited about that! We have had many requests for cooking classes and community collaborations so we’ll update you as those things happen. We have already partnered with Walker Coffee and have been making a variety of freshly baked goods for them to sell. We love getting to know and working with the other proprietors of Antelope Valley and the Eastern Sierra.

In keeping with our sustainability practices we are offering sustainable to-go containers that are reusable to minimize the waste of takeout packaging. We have already recruited a couple people and we’d love to get more participation. You will see a big campaign coming soon! If you’re interested please ask us next time you visit, it’s easy!

Again, Thank You for all the love and support you’ve shown us. We’re looking forward to a big Winter that will bring us a beautiful Spring & Summer and we can’t wait to test out some new recipes.

Happy 2022 from Coachwhip Cafe!
